It’s one of Venice’s premier country club communities and sits on more than 1300 acres with about 2,600 residences. Home styles include maintenance-free villas, patio homes, condominiums, and single-family homes.Plantation Golf & Country Club is owned by Concert Golf Partners, one of the fastest-growing private club ownership companies in the US. Concert currently has over 30 properties in its portfolio, spanning 16 states from Massachusetts to Texas. As a member of one club, you basically become a member at all of them, so you can play a round of golf or tennis, swim, or dine at another Concert Golf property during your travels.The centerpiece of the community is the two 18-hole championship golf courses. Both the Bobcat and Panther golf courses were designed by Lakeland, Florida-based golf course architect Ron Garl. Each year since 1988, Plantation Golf & Country Club has played host to the LPGA Tour Qualifier event and the club’s reputation continues to grow in stature.In September 2022, Hurricane Ian did a number on the west coast of Florida, and Plantation Country Club did not make it unscathed. As a result, the golf courses now have a different look and feel than when I played them in 2019. Between the two courses, Plantation lost between 450 – 500 trees. The main clubhouse and fitness buildings received a complete remodel, several pickleball and bocce courts needed to be replaced, and the tennis courts were redone with a Har-Tru surface.The Bobcat Course is consistently ranked among Floridas top 50 courses by Golfweek Magazine and is considered by many to be one of the finest and most challenging 18-hole courses in the area. According to Garl, more earth was moved to create the rolling hills on the Bobcat Course than any other course in Florida. With seven sets of tees,The Panther Course is the perfect complement to the Bobcat. Although it is considerably shorter than Bobcat it typically plays a little tougher. The original Garl design offered a distinctly different look with several fairway pot bunkers and several sharp dogleg holes. A renovation by architect Stephen Kay in 1999 included enlarging the greens complexes and incorporating more undulation into them.Its often said that “practice makes perfect,” and The Learning Center helps members get the most out of their golf game. They use the FlightScope Launch Monitor and various club-fitting systems to help you take your game to the next level. They also have major equipment manufacturers come in for “Demo Days” where you can try all the latest and greatest golf gear.If golf’s not your thing, there’s still plenty to do at The Club. For racquet sports players, Plantation features 13 Har-Tru tennis courts, 5 of which are lit for night play, and 6 pickleball courts. Another popular activity at Plantation Golf & Country Club is bocce ball. There are 4 courts located behind the Tennis Pro Shop.Plantation’s Fitness Center is stocked with weight machines, stationary bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, and free weights. Comment: With our children out of town, my wife and I decided to have our Thanksgiving dinner at Plantation Golf & Country Club. The atmosphere was amazing, the food was incredible, and the service was second to none. The price, even as a non-member was very reasonable and there was so much to choose from! Both my wife and I walked away saying it was the best Thanksgiving dinner we have ever had! Thanksgiving dinner at the Club may become a family tradition!

Comment: We have held multiple golf tournaments at Plantation Golf & Country Club over the past few years as they were the only club willing to host us post-pandemic. Many clubs increased in membership during quarantine which resulted in electing to not let outsiders come in and utilize their course. Plantation was very welcoming and amazing to work with. Their teams, both for golf and catering are phenomenal and make the planning for large events simple and efficient. Would highly recommend Plantation to anyone/group looking to host a substantial event in the future!

Comment: Yesterday, I attended a fundraiser luncheon sponsored by a women’s club that raises money for charity. As part of the fundraising, the charitable organization, not the country club, charged $45. Participants typically understand that part of the luncheon cost is a donation to charity. My meal consisted of salmon, salad, mixed steamed vegetables, rice, and a dessert. All of the food was nicely presented and properly prepared. The luncheon was in a cheerful banquet room, and the staff was polite and helpful. All in all, a very positive experience.

Comment: New owners, making regulars look for a new golf venue. They dont allow hats inside the restaurant. I wear a hat at every dinner and event I participate with. Golfers almost always wear hats while golfing but have to lose it when having a meal afterwards. Rather ridiculous in my opinion.

Comment: We had our wedding at Plantation Golf and Country Club last week. Our guests are still calling us commenting how beautiful the wedding was. The food was outstanding and delicious. The ceremony was planned to be outside, but the weather was not cooperating, so we requested to bring it indoors and we were accommodated seamlessly. The ceremony was in a beautifully arranged area that overlooked the Golf course. Cocktail hour and hors d oeuvres were also outstanding. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The ballroom was spacious and beautifully arranged. We received advice and help in the scheduling and planning of our special day. Our thanks and appreciation goes out to Plantation Golf and Country Club for a job well done. It was absolutely the right decision for us.

Every time I had a blast and was amazed by the different ways the space can be set up. I even watched a live band play there with all the lights set up. The bar area is nice and spacious. The staff well lets just say A1 they try their best to make sure your needs are met. Looking forward to having an event of my own there.I would definitely recommend this venue.

Comment: Wonderful facility with two very good courses and very good condition. The Bobcat is longer and more challenging while the Panther is shorter and more scenic. Great clubhouse staff and pro shop staff. Has everything a full service club should have.

Comment: I had the pleasure of DJ-ing a wedding here on 5/4/19. I can not say enough good things about the entre establishment. The venue itself is beautiful. Inside and out. From the decorations to the dining area. THe staff there was AMAZING to work with from before the reception started, until I was all packed up to leave. Every step of the way, they were friendly, kind, willing to help and always there. Jessica & Kayla, and the rest of the staff are top notch. Comment: FOOD AND SERVICE WERE OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!For the first time (that Im aware of) the ARTIST SERIES CONCERTS OF SARASOTA had scheduled an evening performance here that included a dinner.And what a dinner that turned out to be!!!! Starting out with an amazing salad of various greens and citrus and nuts...So different and so good!A small Filet/steak cooked to perfection, fresh green beans, boiled red skinned potatoes and shrimp on a skewer was the entree, then we were treated to what looked like a chocolate Igloo, filled with strawberry mousse, fresh strawberry and whipped cream on the side with a sprig of mint. Just heavenly!Service was not only very efficient, but very friendly and whenever our table requested something it did not take long for that to appear. What a nice change from what we experienced at the last show at Michaels on East!!!This was a veritable FEAST!!! And the show of MY THREE SONS was better than ever. I have been following this quartet for close to 20 years and they are just FANTASTIC. Definitely a crowd pleaser.
