Comment: Im currently doing aquatic physical therapy here. All of the staff are friendly and nice. They made me feel welcome and are helping me with my leg. I fractured my femur this year and had the intramedullary nail surgery on August 31st 2023. So far, I have not noticed any improvement in my leg, but thats expected as Ive only been twice. Based on the friendliness and knowledge that Ive encountered, I highly recommend physical therapy here. Aquatic therapy is nice because the water reduces a lot of ones weight.

Comment: Location: Genesis Health Club, Sportsplex Orlando (former MVP Athletic Club). This club changed ownership in December 2022 (former MVP Athletic Club, now Genesis Health Club. However, the management and staff which is at the heart of this review, remained unchanged.1) Staff unavailable, incompetent and unresponsivePhone calls are not getting you anywhere: ALL phone calls either end up with the person you need to talk to being unavailable, or being connected to the answering machine. Voicemails are ignored, youre never called back. Contrast this with the eagerness to sell you new membership or upsell services, you know what type of business this establishment is. Multiple attempts to resolve issues in person are needed, but unable to really resolve anything (personally have been there four times now, still issues are being worked on).2) Shady/Unethical sales tactics, misleading and confusing advertisements, opaque billingAccording to the MVP (RDV) website from 08/2022, the ALL Star membership ($29.00/m) includes free massage. However, it turns out theres another membership for this (depending on the service, between $55-$65/m). The staff is confused too, and we have been told youre good to go with the All Star membership. This was not the case, and we have been charged an additional $65.00/m. The monthly billing is in the form of one charge for all services (membership dues, tennis, food/drink, massages, etc.) and does not explain or itemize any charges. It is automatically deducted from your provided payment method, and youre left guessing what you paid for.3) Horrendous accounting, and billing for services not receivedTennis classes taken are tracked by each coach individually... on hand written notes, on basis of a honor system! Let me tell you, theyre good at tennis, but suck at accounting and book keeping. Multiple charges have been found for days youre even not at the club! When confronted the mistakes are admitted by the staff in private, however the issue remains unresolved and at the members expense.Update 7/11: the club contacted us with an earnest attempt to resolve the issues. Still waiting for reimbursement on some parts, but they promised to follow throughUpdate: bumping up to four stars. Management went out of their way to make up for the mistake, and also changed the way the club keeps track of tennis classes so this doesn’t happen again in the future. Well done!

I appreciated the call back and apology. I’ve changed my stars from 2 to 4 ☺️. I hope one day it can be a 5 with management continuing to handle staff training.The staff is not friendly whenever you are asking for help or information. They always talk in a tone as if you are bothering them. It is not just my experience, I have seen other members be treated like this in the locker room and front desk.I stay for the gym itself, and the friendly class instructors.

Still has lots of options for classes, personal trainers, and equipment (free weights, weight machines, treadmills, stair-steppers, ellipticals, stationary bikes, etc., etc.). Less staff than before the sale, though, and less diligence about maintenance -- e.g., a manual treadmill and one of the stretching machines have been out of order for weeks; broken water fountain handle in the mens locker room.

But it’s huge and beautiful. I didn’t have time to try everything out, mostly lifted weights and cardio. Theres a natures table in the middle of weight hall. The staff was very helpful and nice.

Comment: *Update* Gym recently changed name from RDV to Genesis, but still the same good service. I have been going to this gym for about 6 years now, never disappointed. I just had a baby not long ago and get the chance to use the Kids Stuff facility, which is the best of all. They provide care for children from age 0. Just need to call and make a reservation for baby about 24 hours ahead so they can make sure they have enough staff (i had instance that i forgot to reserve the day before, but called the same day, they checked for me of the schedule and told me okay to bring the 3-month-old baby anyways).- The best gym i have ever seen. Its large, tidy, full equipped, well maintained and multi-functional. A lot of interesting group classes, decent area for cardio, pretty in-door swimming poor, cool weight lifting area, and did i mentioned the cute kids stuff? Never get bored exploring this place or my self limit. Sometimes it gets a little bit crowded during summer or Mondays. But its also fun while different events are holding there. Membership fee is a little bit pricey, but they also offer company/family membership and you can also earn points and redeem for shirt or gift card. Find the better yourself here!

Comment: A really nice and huge gym facility. Lots of work out room with plenty of treadmills, ellipticals. They have a full size pool and also squash court. The outside tennis courts are decent. I didnt like the lighting there. The lights are quite low and difficult to serve if you are not used to them. Furthermore the fences, especially on the sides, are very close to each other. Feels closed in.They have a few pickleball courts as well. I would likely join this gym if I lived closer to that area.

The monthly membership is less than what I was paying for the least expensive Club Pilates and Cyclebar plans combined (which allowed me 4 classes of each a month), but at RDV I can take as many classes of whatever type I want, which include early morning and evening time slots that fit my schedule much better.Of course, the facility and gym equipment are also clean and well maintained, and I cant hate the hot tub, steam room and sauna either!They also have promotions and contests, including a Bingo-like challenge during the month of March for which I am writing this review (not sponsored, and all opinions are still my own).Overall, very much enjoy working out here :)

Comment: The RDV has a bunch of different classes for all levels of fitness. The instructors are energetic and engaging. The facility is beautiful, large, and clean. There are many different types of machines located throughout the gym. There are 2 tuff areas to where you can do your own workout. Towels are available, so you dont have to bring a towel. The membership price is much higher than other gyms, but you get for what you pay for. (There is a point program and with the reward points you can purchase food, a training session, or simply have the cash value deducted from your monthly membership costs.).

Comment: The RDV have just re-done their whole gym and It looks brand new! It looks like it opened yesterday. They have tons of new equipment and a very nice turf area. Their locker room’s each have a hot tub and sauna rooms. They have 2 basketball courts, 2 racquetball rooms, and 2 squash ball rooms. The gym also features a restaurant upstairs. Easily the nicest gym I’ve been to!

Not to mention the huge verities of exercise equipment to use and the various different courts for different games. Comment: Signed up yesterday as a former member, I must say, it really doesnt get any better than this for gyms. Its so clean, tons of new equipment since Ive been, everything is top of the line. I have a 4 year old daughter now and shes SO thrilled with the kids area set up. 2 floors, giant bounce house, outside play area. The 3 hour time limit is truly a blessing. Gives you plenty of time to enjoy the amenities, take a class, lift, enjoy the spa,grab something to eat. Its so nice to be able to work out in the day during the weekend too with the kids club open til 6pm on weekends. You wont find that at any corporate gym. Im very excited to be back!

Comment: This is one of the best place to work out in Winter Park. Especially if you are looking for squash courts.They have squash ladders, lessons and games. You can also borrow some racquets at the front desk of you forgot yours. In addition it is easily the only place to play squash and there is a good community of players ranging from Juniors to veterans.They also have squash classes and groups sessions for Juniors and adults.Other than squash the club as everything you can think of in term of the industry. Weights, classes, yoga and space to eat.Great club!

Bring a jacket if you are in or around the rink. It will be a little chilly. There is a snack bar with some food available. There is a lot more to do at the sportplex. Everything I have written are real facts.Have you ever felt like your arms were going to fall off, your legs were going to explode, and your throat would burn infinitely without end? If you have, then you’ve probably been to the RDV Magic Basketball Camp. As I walked into the large gym, the cacophony of the naive laughs and the banging of basketballs against the court was nearly deafening. At that moment, a large, shadowy figure loomed in the doorway. The coach, which I referred to as Coach Psycho began to shriek orders at me and the hundred other poor, unfortunate souls. I desperately looked furtively around. I thought of any way I could make this week-long torture beneficial, and this was before I realized I could make any situation better with my attitude.We lined up in a cluster, military-style. Coach Psycho then proceeded to give us a “pep scream” about how sports were not about having fun, but winning. I knew from then on that this was going to be terrible, and I decided not to do my best. My primal instinct just told me to survive.After we finished the “warm-up”, in which we were forced to overexert ourselves, we initiated the impossible drills. All requests for rehydration were immediately denied, even though we were an hour in. As my sweat soaked through my clothes thoroughly, I checked out my fellow victims. The saying “misery loves company” directly applied to me at that moment. The other downtrodden teenagers were having an even worse time than I was. But that glimmer of happiness was immediately squashed by the fact that persecution lasted seven hours, and even then it would only be the end of day one of five. I was inconsolable.After two hours of brutally grueling training, I were exhausted. I felt like I was soon to die. Not only was the drudgery of doing impossible drills demoralizing, I had no one to share my sorrows with. My little brother was in a different division, and although there were many teens my age, they were of the unsavory, profanatory sort. Not only that, but they weren’t very bright; one, in fact, formulated a week-long argument about how Cheez-Its and Goldfish were exactly the same. So I slogged it out forlornly.A few days passed. We were on the last two days. I suffered from dehydration, lack of sleep (due to basketball nightmares and unabating soreness), and demoralization. However, after this, I looked upon basketball camp with new eyes. What if, instead of bashing and loathing camp, I used my energy to learn what I could in my stay? I’m not going to go all cheesy and say it was great, because I’m not a liar. Admittedly, I did learn some new moves and get physically stronger.All good things must come to an end. All bad things too. The latter occurred, and finally, I was free of the wrath of RDV Basketball Camp. Me and my brother got some pity trinkets and two small basketballs that lasted a whole three and a half days. I was slightly better than before, and slightly stronger before, so some benefit did indeed occur, but I will always remember the name of RDV Basketball Camp in dread and terror.

Comment: Great facility. Huge workout areas. Every machine you can think. Plus free weights. Olympic size pool plus a big kiddies pool and warm water pool for therapy and stretchingOutstanding staff. They are extremely helpful and very willing. Specialists in spinning, yoga Pilates, core exercises. Many and varied classes. Locker are very nice. Steam, sauna. Whirlpool and COLD PLUNGE.I am a longstanding member and RDV continues to provide superior facilities and superior staff.( My only caveat is that if you are elderly or disabled, there is only one shower stall in the entire mens locker room. There are times when 2 or 3 people are waiting to use that stall. I think it would be relatively easy to install a couple of grab bars and get another shower seat. )This is an issue for a small number of and does detract from 5 star rating.

Its such a great facility that I am sure the memberships sell themselves. Every workout class you could want, without all of the hassle of scheduling a week in advanced to reserve a space. Facilities are so large that even at the busiest hours you are never waiting to use equipment or overcrowded.

Comment: RDV has everything, from kindergarten to hair salons, doctors, and of course the huge gym that even has an ice den. Not many gyms in Florida have pools, but RDV has that too, which is a huge plus for people who find community pools too small for a real swim. They offer many classes with certified instructors and because its so huge, it never looks crowded.

Comment: I recently had worked out at the facility and all the friendly staff that made it a welcoming experience. I wanted to especially call out Vicky in the shop and Fernando working the front desk. Vicky was very kind and answered all my questions with great knowledge regarding all the products I was interested in. She even showed me products like watches that werent on display which shows how awesome her service was. Also, Fernando was also very kind and conversational with all the questiond I had about the facility and how to get to certain areas. All in all, great service and the facility is clean with a huge variety of equipment.Edit:A year later and again awesome service from all staff. I want to call out who was working today at the gift shop at 4:30pm 4/4/17, a gentleman and a lady: They were both kind and answered all my questions with great knowledge and feel they should be recognized. :)

Lots of opportunities to play hockey, many ice times having two rinks.The pro shop doesnt have prices on most things but they are reasonable and competitive with the online retailers. They do a great job with sharpening skates and you can get a Flat-bottom V (FBV) cut as well.

Comment: Have almost all the sports or choices of exercise you want in a nice environment. Convenient hours and schedule. Personal or do it yourself own style. Olympic size swimming pool with salt instead of chlorine is much less irritating to the eyes and easier to my hair. The amenities are excellent, they provide bath towels, liquid bath soap, shampoo, skin lotion, and spray deodorant. Blow dryers are provided for as well. All the trainers I believe have bachelor degree in exercise science.

Comment: I have been a member at several local gyms, and this is by far THE BEST. You get what you pay for ! There are so many classes scheduled at a a variety of times to accommodate everyone. Nice, well maintained equipment. The treadmills that I have used DO have fans. The trainers are all top notch and happy to answer questions and assist. Bruce K. was fantastic and truly knows his profession.I didnt notice the demographic being older.....it seemed to me like a well rounded goup of members with the common goal of being healthy. I havent seen anyone pretending to work out. In other local gyms, I have had to deal with people just sitting on equipment playing on social media, texting or taking selfies of themselves. Not kidding. Fortunately, I have never seen this at RDV.

Comment: I enjoy exercising in the weight area, classes, and pool. I was obesed when I joined but the staff are trained with the weight techniques, nutrition, and are positive. Basically, I lost 45 lbs so it really works- the diet and exercise.
